Distance and separation are what make telepathy possible. Metaxu is Greek for “bridge,” for the separation that is also a link. I blended this perfume while my dearest friend sat beside me in the room, quietly absorbed in her own work. I wanted this scent to evoke the mood of comfortable silence between two souls dreaming by a woodsy cabin fireplace: cashmere, tea, musk, and burning autumn leaves provide the background. A peppery note reminds us of the spark of joy that comes when we silently connect with the stranger beside us as well as the one within.
